We have started running information sessions for members at Merthyr Communities First Office in High Street Merthyr. The sessions will be hosted by CVV’s James Barratt, who will be on hand to demonstrate assistive gadgets and provide information leaflets on coping with sight loss and the services and support available.

Finding Your Feet courses are a major hit, helping to transform the everyday lives of people, giving them hints and tips for coping with sight loss. Driven by the skills of people with sight loss, this includes going shopping, transport and managing your finances.

We are organising a trip to the renowned St Fagans National History Museum near Cardiff. One of Europe’s leading open-air museums, St Fagans provides an excellent opportunity to tour ancient Welsh houses re-built in the grounds to experience how people lived in Wales down the centuries.
Thanks to funding from Merthyr County Borough Council, we are pleased to announce that our ‘Finding Your Feet’ training programme will now run on a regular basis in Merthyr.
Two new staff members have joined Rebecca to help us with our ever expanding range of services.Hannah Farron has been appointed as Club Co- ordinator covering Rhondda Cynon Taf and Merthyr Tydfil.
CVVs former computer training manager Mike Walsh, who retired last year, has become Secretary of Visually Impaired Merthyr (VIM).

Good news for nature lovers as the final finishing touches have been made to the Sensory Garden at Cyfartha Park.
