About the scheme
Finding your Feet is an innovative, practical training programme designed to make it easier to cope with sight loss in many aspects of everyday life. Finding Your Feet is run by people with sight loss for people with sight loss. This ensures our guidance is based on first hand knowledge and experience built up by people with sight loss over many years.
The full course runs over six weekly sessions of around three hours in duration and people can go along to as many, or as few sessions as they like.

Finding your Feet gives you practical skills and tips for dealing with everyday aspects of life including :
How to manage your finances, including dealing with banks and buildings societies as well as methods of payment when shopping.
How to get around town, including using buses, trains and taxis as well as pedestrian tips and skills.
How to make the most of all kinds of shopping trips, including assistance from retailers and payment methods.
Essential tips for organising your home, help with special gadgets and cooking for people with sight loss.
IT and Internet
Guidance on the latest accessible software opening up the world of computers and the Internet to blind and partially sighted people.
